ROYAL BOTANIC GARDENS

Situated at the entrance to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne, The Gardens Shop sells botanical-inspired products.

David Lancashire Design created the identity for The Gardens Shop. The eclectic foliage of the tree infers the large assortment of botanic plants and trees at the gardens, and the roots – penned by the founder Von Mueller – form the base of the tree.

Various merchandise has also been developed by DLD for the Gardens Shop, including bookmarks, aprons, cards and paper bags, each branded with drawings from the Royal Botanic Gardens extensive botanic archives.

Banners developed to hang outside the retail shop of the Royal Botanic Gardens were created from scraps of paper to form plant and flower imagery.

The Visitor’s Centre is the information portal of the Royal Botanic Gardens. The pods on wheels were designed for flexibility. The design also addressed visitor flow and dealt with difficult acoustics.
