This exhibition and catalogue retrospective elegantly charts the evolution of the art of John Ford Paterson and the talented Paterson family.
Many of the works in the exhibition are held in the descendant’s collections and had not been seen in public since 1932.
Throughout the catalogue, focus is given to the paintings, with many full-page features. The subtle hues used are sympathetic to the artist’s translation of the beauty of nature into his landscapes, shrouded in veils of twilight.
