SCULPTURE SURVEY 2010

The studio has produced a major comprehensive catalogue for the McClelland Sculpture Survey & Award 2010

Since its inception in 2003, the McClelland Sculpture Survey has emerged as the most important outdoor sculpture exhibition in Australia, displaying a wide range of works in different media and styles by established and emerging artists. The Survey presents 34 works displayed throughout 16 hectares of landscaped gardens and natural bushland.

The 2010 Survey was given a new, bold and exciting identity, which was carried across a range of printed collateral. Graphic treatment of the existing Survey logo, and the introduction of yellow and black as key colours, ensured the 2010-2011 event made a memorable impact.

The 120pp publication showcases the 36 finalists, including the winner Louise Paramor for her work Top Shelf 2010, with full coverage of each of the Survey works, artist biographies, and past works. As well as full-page photographs of each of the artists’ works, striking night-time images of McClelland’s bushland by John Gollings are interwoven throughout the catalogue, providing a context in which the sculptures exist. The yellow and black theme was carried throughout the catalogue, with a contemporary typographic treatment providing an easy-to-read solution to a dense and enlightening compilation of information.

As part of the Survey DLD produced a pocket guide brochure, featuring a map of the grounds and self-guided tour of the Survey works. DLD used Envirocare 100% Recycled paper stock for this and the Catalogue.

The yellow and black theme is carried across all collateral, including signage, flags, banners and labels for each of the sculptures.
